Throughout the month of September, we are going to be focusing on "Courage". How can we be brave enough to do the things we should do, even when we are afraid? For all children, each day is filled with new experiences. Sometime there are major changes, or new activities that require a sense of "courage" to be able to step out and do them - even when they are afraid of the unknown. Teaching our kids when to be cautious and when to be courageous is very important. We want to raise confident kids who will stand up and stand out!
Discussion Idea:
In the Bible, there are many stories of men and women of faith who had to be courageous and do what they knew from God was the right thing even when it threatened their life! Think of the story of Elijah - the King and Queen were threatening his life because he wouldn't worship Baal - instead he followed God's commands and God burnt even the stones of His alter and Elijah was saved. Can your family come up with other stories where God's people had to listen to His voice and be courageous?
